apibrėžtis Tarptautinis Europos moterų krepšinio klubų susivienijimas, rengiantis Europos stipriausių moterų krepšinio klubų varžybas. Įkurtas 1996 m., globojamas Tarptautinės krepšinio federacijos (FIBA). Pirmosiose Europos moterų krepšinio lygos varžybose 1996–1997 m. sezonu žaidė 14 klubų komandos. Nugalėjo „Bourges Basket“ (Prancūzija) krepšininkės. 2000–2001 m. sezono Europos moterų krepšinio lygos varžybose debiutavo Lietuvos krepšininkės – Vilniaus „Lietuvos telekomo“ klubas, o nugalėjo „CJM Bourges“ (Prancūzija) klubas. 2002 m. pirmą kartą nugalėjo kitas Prancūzijos klubas – Valensjeno „USV Olimpic“.
